August in Review

It's been a good month!  Finishing up summer was totally fine with me, I was excited about school.  And we did a couple of super fun things this month!

Gary Johnson came to Salt Lake for a rally and of course Bailey and I had to go!  We are huge Gary Johnson fans - we think he's the only sane candidate.  Please take the time to look him up!  After the rally, Bailey and I walked back behind the building to catch him for a picture as he came out.  He's a super nice guy!

Our garden is giving us zucchini!  And if you would call those little guys tomatoes, I guess we got those too.  Our garden has not gone as well as we hoped it would, but it still has been fun harvesting the few things that grew!

My aunt Jen gave us two free tickets to Lagoon!  Isn't she the best?!  By chance, Bailey's sister Brandie and her husband were there celebrating her birthday, so we spent the day with them.  We had so much fun!

We got to celebrate Audrie and Arissa's birthday with them!

They are so funny with their little shih tzus and always dress them up for whatever occasion.  Also, I can't get over the fact that this dog's tongue doesn't ever go back in his mouth (some story about another dog strangling him when he was a baby?) He's so freaking cute!

This baby is my BFF.  I love cousin Ayla!  She makes me want a baby of my own... but I don't know if any baby can be as pleasant as this one.

Chanel leaves in like two weeks!  I am going to miss her like crazy!  But we've had some fun hanging out lately, and were able to do a session at the Payson temple which was very cool.

Ladies Trip 2016

Ah yes, our annual Ladies Trip!

The past two years we went to Salt Lake City for our Ladies Trip, so this year we shook it up a little and headed all the way up to Ogden, Utah!  Of course, stopping at our favorite Mexican restaurant (Red Iguana) in Salt Lake on our way....

My friends, Ladies Trip can consist of a lot of different things that ladies like to do.  These things include shopping, eating, and laying around watching My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding.  Naturally all of these things occurred, as our first stop in Ogden was at the mall!  July/August are the only months of the year that I like mall shopping, because I grew up believing that those months were made for school clothes shopping.  But as I've gotten older I have come to realize that I have way more clothes than any person could ever need... so good thing I have a husband to shop for now!  I missed him a lot over ladies trip, so I came home with an American flag pin and some new Converses for him.  Oh, and some new pants and shoes for myself because LADIES TRIP.

After we shopped we layed around a bit and were highly entertained by smiley little Ayla.  I'm so obsessed with that baby!

Of course, while we were so far up north we had to hit Maddox for some high quality filet mignon.  It was so delicious that I felt guilty eating without sharing with Bailey!  We ordered some peach pie to go, and hurried back to the hotel pool to work on our synchronized swimming routine and to compete in our own Olympics.

Being an Olympian is tough stuff, so we relaxed the rest of the evening while eating pie and watching glamorous gypsies on TLC.  And then the next morning... we shopped some more!  I was pretty much burned out/totally done with shopping, so I hung out with Ayla some more until it was time for our annual Urban Flea Market stop!  It is fun being an adult, because finally I can buy all the cute house things I didn't need before.  I bought 5 different milkglass baking dishes!  Kylie, my grandma, and I are the only ones who like the flea market, so I was grateful everyone was willing to stop.

Kylie bought the cutest suitcase!

Anyway, it was a fabulous Ladies Trip!  Can't wait until next year!
