What Happened in June

I can't believe June is already over!  We waited so long for May to come and now we are gaining on our two month anniversary.  Crazy!

It has been a pretty anticlimactic summer.  I'm used to summers spent hiking every day, rock climbing, camping, vacationing, and hanging out with family and friends.  Working full time is quite the commitment though, so I feel like every hour of my life is spent being a housewife either at home or at work.  Oh, or driving to and from work... the family I nanny for just moved 40 minutes away from my home!  It's been a hard adjustment for me, because I'd much rather not be working of course, but you do what you've got to do when you're thrown into the adult life.  And though it keeps me super busy, I know I have a pretty amazing job!

Sometimes, though, I do have the opportunity to relax a bit and have fun.  So here's some of the fun things I've been up to this past month!

We're getting ready for another family wedding!  My cousin Shawn is marrying the sweetest and cutest gal named Sammy.  Here is a picture of us when Kylie and I showed up to Sammy's bridal shower wearing red dresses like her!

I love that Bailey's family does a family home evening every month!  And popsicles are always a plus.

When the social anxiety gets to be a little much, I can always count on a dog or a small child to help me get away.  The only dogs in Bailey's family are little wiener dogs, and I think they are so friendly and adorable!

I hated board games until I started playing with these fine people.  Now I love game nights!

Miss Utah week has again come and gone!  Bailey has been on the film crew for several years now.  I always like the reminder that my husband is a skilled videographer.  It's pretty hot.  But it's not fun to spend nights apart from each other, so I'm glad it's over!

Tennis Tuesdays!  It was a thing for a couple of weeks in a row until Kylie jumped and landed on her ankle.  She heard it crunch.  She's done with crutches now, and can almost drive herself to work (of course it was her right foot!) but we are still not back to tennis Tuesday status.  We will get there.  I mean, I finally bought my own racket so we better...

Bailey and I are pretty much dying in our A/C-less cars.  I found a spray bottle at Target though, and it works pretty good for a $0.96 air conditioner

Bailey and I are sure to make time for our bimonthly dates!  Chanel gave us adventure passes for Thanksgiving Point, so we went to Farm Country, The Museum of Natural Curiosity, and the gardens!  It was so much fun and I really just love Thanksgiving Point (and my husband).

The roses are my favorite in the gardens.  I love how wild they are and I especially love how they smell!
I started parting my hair in the middle but when I look in the mirror I see 7th grade Madi and I don't know how I feel about that.

The Holmes took me to my first rodeo and I only cried one and a half times!  But after a half hour or so I realized that the whole point of rodeos is to watch people fall off animals, so I embraced it.  It was quite like a gladiator fight, in my opinion; a bunch of mammals trying to beat each other up.  Overall I had a good time, and was proud to watch my brother in law ride a bull!

Sometimes I just crave a good swim in a lake!  That's not always a reasonable wish when you don't have whole days to play, so little reservoirs just have to do sometimes.
