A Day in Disneyland!

We left after classes yesterday to head straight to the Toy Story Hotel!

Oh the Toy Story Hotel. My mom was happy that we booked an American type vacation after having spent enough time on China's hard beds! We slept so good on those Western mattresses last night, and didn't even feel like we had to wear shoes around the room. Also, you can take a whole bunch of things for free from the room, like the cute little toiletry tins, reusable grocery bags, and the water bottles. What luxuries. We enjoyed watching a free Disney movie until we fell asleep about 10 minutes in.

We got up early this morning to catch a shuttle to the park, where we waited in quite the line!

Once we got in Bailey booked it to Soaring Over the Horizons to snag us some fast passes, but the line for fast passes was so long that he decided it wasn't worth it, and came back to the bakery to meet mom and I for a sugary breakfast. The bakery at Disneyland is so good!

The lines were pretty long today, but we hit almost everything we wanted to. In the morning we went on Pirates, the Hunny Pot Spin, and the Voyage to the Crystal Grotto which was actually closed the first time Bailey and I came. The line was long for that one but it was worth it! It was a boat ride like Storybook Land in Anaheim, but the characters and sets and everything were full sized and moved. It was so cute!

While we waited in line for the Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, we munched on some ice cream that my mom bought us!  I opted for the white chocolate option filled with strawberry ice cream.  I think that's an Asia exclusive Disney treat!  It was DELICIOUS!

After I spilled ice cream on Bailey's shorts.

By that time of day it was super hot, and we were getting really hungry. So we went to the Tavern (from Tangled!) and ordered some American food. My roasted chicken was a little bit Chinese tasting, but it was still good!  We took it easy for a little bit after that, and visited the Garden of the 12 Friends.  I was so sad when Bailey and I forgot to visit this in April, so I'm glad we got to see it today!  We found our ox.

We also found a little area that was filled with mist.  I'm not sure why it was, but it felt good!

I was happy when we were accidently right on time to watch some parades!  Mulan is my FAVORITE!

We spent some time walking around their version of Main Street.  I got to see the candy shop that I had missed last time!  It wasn't that exciting.

We stopped inside the bottom level of the castle to admire the mosaics.  They're so gorgeous!  My mom actually ended up buying 4 different puzzles that were each of the different mosaics!

One thing that I love about this park is that it is basically set up for pictures!  There are tons of places to get great castle pictures, and so many cute sets and props all over the place perfect for picture taking.  I guess that's what happens when a Disney Park opens in such a photography-centered age!

Outside of the castle is the Alice in Wonderland Maze, which is so cute!

The rest of the day was spent going on more rides. We had so much fun! Even though Bailey and I went less than two months ago, it was still magical. A highlight of the day was the Tron ride. Mom LOVED it! We went in the single riders line, and got on pretty quick.  I had told her how fast the ride accelerates you in the beginning, so we were both a little bit nervous in line!

Bailey especially loves Tomorrowland, and he made sure we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride so he could kick our butts.

He also found a Marvel section of the park, which we didn't actually know existed.  We didn't spend very much time there, but Bailey liked looking at all of the Iron Mans!

We thought about going on the Jet Pack ride, but decided the wait wasn't worth it and that this picture would be good enough.

For dinner we ate a hot dog (which was pretty gross) and then found that the park had basically cleared out! We took this opportunity to walk right onto the kid rides such as Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan.

The night ended with the fireworks show on the castle. Turns out, it looks better from father away. It was fun to watch and hear the music!

We were very tired after that, and were relieved to just be heading back to the Toy Story Hotel!
