Today we got kind of a late start. I blame it on the light blocking curtains, it was so dark in our hotel room! We finally made it out, checked out of the hotel, and went back to the bakery for a delicious bacon roll breakfast. We quickly got on the metro over to the Jing'an Temple, thinking we could check it out quick before church. Well, when we got there we learned that it would be 50 kuai each to get in! Considering we had to leave for church in just 15 minutes, we decided to wait on the Jing'an Temple, and just walk around the site instead. It was still pretty cool!
We then went to a Shanghai international branch. In our pants! It felt weird but you do what you've got to do. Church was super cool, I love hearing from members that have come from all around the world. And it was in a nice venue in a really tall building!
Church took a little longer than expected because everyone thought we were new to the branch or even nonmembers because our lack of dress clothes. So everyone wanted to talk to us, and we did meet some cool people. But once the room cleared out, we booked it over to the South Bund market so that Bailey could order 2 suits and 2 more shirts! We had to avoid a lot of pushy vendors who yesterday we told, "we will come back tomorrow!" One particular lady yelled at Dillon when we weren't with him, saying, "WHERE IS YOUR FRIEND!? HE SAID HE WOULD COME BACK THIS MORNING!" We went in a separate entrance to avoid that particular lady.
That night Spencer and Rachel took us to a fried dumpling place that Rachel's brother's girlfriend's dad (who lives in Shanghai) recommended. HOLY COW it was insanely good! They were crispy and so tasty, especially dipped in vinegar and chili sauce. And who can beat 8 kuai (a little over $1) for 4 dumplings?! 4 was enough for Bailey, but I had to go back for seconds I loved them so much!
After that it was time to go home. Funny how Changzhou really seems like home now. We had so much fun in Shanghai, but were all exhausted and ready to get in our own beds... even knowing how hard they would be!
