On his actual birthday we had a hot dog roast at my grandparents house in lieu of going out for mine and Kylie's birthday like we normally do. I love that our birthdays are right next to each other and that we always get to celebrate when the lilacs are in bloom! It was fun to include Warden in this year's birthday pics.
Turns out that a birthday fire is an excellent idea. We all had so much fun with such great company! we also go to play four square in the air which is a family favorite.
Today Kylie and Seiji threw their sweet baby an official first birthday party complete with streamers and balloons. He had no idea what was going on, but he was in a cheerful little mood and it was so fun to watch him "open" his presents and eat his cake! He was very gentle with the cake and ate it in tiny pieces. He probably could have eaten the whole thing if we let him sit there for a few hours - that boy likes his chocolate!
Such a happy week with some of my favorite people! I have felt exceptionally blessed lately and I'm so excited to bask in the fun of the rest of summer!
